The first project meeting took place at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science on December 27, 2023. The Indian team members attended in person, while their UK colleagues joined via Teams call. Everyone had the chance to introduce themselves and share insights into their research, highlighting how their work could contribute to the project. The main goal of the meeting was to get a better understanding of each other’s work and to lay out a plan for future activities. There was also discussion about the possibility of bringing on more researchers for the project.
Looking ahead, there’s an upcoming workshop on 3rd July, 2024 hosted by the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, UK. This workshop will bring together collaborators and partner organizations to discuss policy-making related to water pollutants, specifically focusing on persistent organic pollutants. Partner institutions like Tianjin University (China), East China University of Science & Technology(China), and the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (India) will be represented, along with various external and industrial stakeholders. During this meeting, the Indian project team finalized their participation and outlined project deliverables according to a timeline.
